Shaw supporting Canada’s future golf stars as they prepare for the 2013 RBC Canadian Open

Calgary, Alberta (July 22, 2013) — Shaw Communications today announced that it is supporting the development of six rising Canadian professional golfers as they tee up for the RBC Canadian Open.
Identified with the Shaw logo during the week of the RBC Canadian Open, these players represent the future of Canadian golf at this year’s national championship, taking place at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario from July 22-28, 2013. Shaw Business is a Premier Partner of the RBC Canadian Open.

Albin Choi — Hometown: Toronto, ON Tour: PGA Tour Canada
A standout collegiate player at North Carolina State where he won eight tournaments in addition to the 2010 Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship, Choi will be competing in his third RBC Canadian Open.
Brian Hadley — Hometown: Sarnia, ON Tour: PGA of Ontario
Hadley earned an exemption for the RBC Canadian Open after winning the Ontario Regional Qualifier at Greystone Golf Club in Milton, Ont. This will be Hadley’s first time competing in the national championship and the first time he’s played at the Glen Abbey Golf Course.
Adam Hadwin — Hometown: Abbotsford, BC Tour: Web.com
Hadwin is the fourth-ranked Canadian on the World Golf Rankings and earned the Rivermead Cup as the Low Canadian at both the 2010 and 2011 RBC Canadian Opens. He currently sits 67th on the Web.com Tour money list and will be competing in his fourth RBC Canadian Open.
Bryn Parry — Hometown: Vancouver, BC Tour: Vancouver Golf Tour
Recently crowned 2013 PGA Championship of Canada winner, Parry earned his exemption as the top golfer on the PGA of Canada Player Rankings. He will compete in his second RBC Canadian Open.
Roger Sloan — Hometown: Calgary, AB Tour: Web.com
Sloan, who currently sits 135th on the Web.com money list after competing in 13 events, earned his 2013 Web.com status by finishing tied for 73rd at the 2012 PGA TOUR Final Qualifying Tournament. A former winner and graduate of PGA TOUR Canada, Sloan will be competing in his third RBC Canadian Open.
Eugene Wong — Hometown: North Vancouver, BC Tour: PGA Tour Canada
As a graduate of Team Canada and former collegiate standout at the University of Oregon, Wong is coming off an impressive rookie season on PGA TOUR Canada where he won two of the four events he competed including the Great Waterway Classic and the Canadian Tour Championship. The 2010 winner of the prestigious Jack Nicklaus Award will be competing in his fourth RBC Canadian Open.
